About Us

Origins

Tempo International was organized in the mid 1970’s as a professional women’s networking organization in Milwaukee. The chapters grew to include a number of Wisconsin cities, one in Canada and one additional foreign location giving it the International distinction.

The Kenosha Chapter

In 2010, Gina Madrigrano Friebus and Rita Hagen were approached about the opportunity to form a Tempo chapter in Kenosha. In September of 2010 the first luncheon was held and a Board was formed. The local chapter was part of Tempo International until the Tempo International Board determined that individual chapters were working independently and growing in their own communities. Tempo International dissolved and each community maintained their individual organizations focusing on their own goals.

Chapter Goals

The goals of Tempo Kenosha have remained consistent over the years with an emphasis on networking and relationship building. We meet on a monthly basis over lunch providing time to network and also hosting a guest speaker. The speakers share information on a variety of topics including personal and professional growth, community and economic updates, health and wellness and a variety of other topics of interest. In addition to the monthly luncheons, Tempo Kenosha hosts additional social events throughout the year to help further build relationships among our members and to grow membership.

Community Involvement

Tempo Kenosha has been a proud co-sponsors of the Susan B. Anthony Women of Influence Awards since 2015 and in 2018 the chapter was excited to partner with the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce to award two scholarships to women attending one of our local colleges. While Tempo Kenosha does not ask our members to fund raise, the chapter does support 100+ Women Who Care and we invite any of our members to join us at their quarterly events.

Luncheons and Membership

Luncheons are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 11:45 am – 1:00 pm at the Colergét Conference Center, 6520 67th Street. We invite interested prospects to visit the group and ask that you officially join after two visits. Visitors are asked to pay a $25 fee. Our annual membership fee is $300 – prorated based on the month you join. If you have questions or would like more information, please email us at tempokenosha@gmail.com.
